You are your own expert.

Congratulations on your continued journey toward a deeper understanding of yourself!

I believe that you are the one who knows yourself best. The insight that can come from therapy is often the result of illuminating truth and understanding that you already hold inside yourself.

That process can require some digging, commitment, and self-compassion.

Therapy can be the catalyst for insight and change for you.

I was drawn to the field of counseling through my own positive experience with personal therapy.  I believe there are certain core beliefs established in early development that shape our views and impact our way of relating to others.

Together, we can explore your core beliefs in a safe, encouraging environment, and help you re-connect to your innate power and wisdom. I have a special passion for working with parents, lawyers and individuals grappling with existential questions or identity issues.

Juggling work and life obligations

I grew up in Rockford, Illinois, eventually migrating to Texas for law school, then practiced law in Texas for 13 years.  The last few years of my legal practice, I attended St. Edward’s University to obtain my MA in Counseling.

Divorced and re-married, I have a wonderful, messy, blended family of four adult stepchildren, two young children and one very untrained puppy.

I try to approach life with a sense of humor, accepting that controlled chaos is the best I can achieve as a working mom.

I am a Chicago Bears and Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and I love playing all kinds of games, especially poker.  My ideal weekend would include watching football, cooking, reading and relaxing with my family and friends.

The juggle is real. The struggle is real. Relationships and responsibilities are increasingly complex in our culture. I believe my direct life experience in successfully navigating these areas has expanded my natural empathy and allows me to support my clients in a deep and meaningful way.
